FAQs

Valved Exhaust System

What vehicles does your valved exhaust system fit?
Our current system is built for the Porsche 997.2 Carrera models (2009–2012 model years with 3.6L and 3.8L DFI engines). Future fitments are in development.

I already have Porsche Sport Exhaust. Is the ECG Performance Valved Exhaust System still compatible?
Yes. Our exhaust system works with the original Porsche Sport Exhaust controls. Just connect the factory PSE hoses to ECG Performance exhaust valves.

What makes the ECG Performance exhaust system different from others?
Our valved exhaust is enthusiast-designed to deliver the best of both worlds—aggressive tone during spirited driving and quiet operation for daily use. Factory-level fitment, premium materials, reasonable pricing, and our wireless PSE module set us apart.

Is the exhaust made from high-quality materials?
Yes. Each system is crafted from TIG-welded 304 stainless steel, featuring CNC-machined flanges and dual-walled tips—engineered to resist corrosion and heat.

Are the exhaust tips included?
Yes, unless otherwise stated. When purchasing our valved exhaust system, exhaust tips of your choice are included at no additional cost.

Is this a DIY-friendly install?
Experience working on cars is recommended. Our system includes detailed instructions and a full video tutorial. You’ll need a mechanic’s tool set, jack stands, and jacks. If you are unfamiliar, uncomfortable, or unable to work on your car, professional installation is advised.

Will this trigger a check engine light or void my warranty?
No. Our valved exhaust system is engineered to work properly with your vehicle and will not trigger any CELs under normal conditions. As with any aftermarket part, warranty coverage will depend on your warranty provider.

Can I use this exhaust with OEM or aftermarket headers?
Yes. Our system fits directly with OEM headers and most aftermarket headers that maintain stock-style connections.

How does the valved control system work?
Our system uses a compact RF remote or the factory Porsche Sport Exhaust button (via our optional wireless PSE module) to control vacuum-actuated valves. You can toggle between closed and open settings instantly.

Do I need to run new wiring or splice into factory systems?
No splicing required. Our system taps into your vehicle’s power using Posi-Tap connectors.

Wireless PSE Module

What vehicles does your Wireless PSE Module fit?
Our Wireless PSE Module Kit is compatible with all Porsche 987 and 997 models.

What does the Wireless PSE Module do?
It enables you to control your valved exhaust using the factory Porsche Sport Exhaust (PSE) dashboard button, eliminating the need for a separate remote.

What makes the Wireless PSE Module special?
The Wireless PSE Module is the EASIEST way to add the factory PSE button to your 997 or 987. Our system is DIY friendly and can be installed within 1-2 hours versus the alternative of paying Porsche $2,000+. With our system, you don’t need to do complicated wiring, tear apart your interior, run wiring through your firewall, tap into the engine’s vacuum system, nor need dealership activation. Just connect our module to the switch assembly wiring harness and install the valve controller at the rear of your car.

Does the Wireless PSE Module Kit come with the PSE Button?
No. The PSE Button cannot be added to an existing switch assembly. A new switch assembly that contains your existing buttons plus the PSE button need to be purchased.
To purchase a new switch assembly for your vehicle, find the correct part number here and then Google it to find a vendor in your country.

Is this a DIY-friendly install?
Yes. The module uses Posi-Tap connectors for simple installation without splicing or cutting into factory wiring. However, if you're unfamiliar with automotive electrical systems, professional installation is recommended.

Will the Wireless PSE Module trigger a check engine light or void my warranty?
No. It is engineered for plug-and-play compatibility and will not trigger CELs. As always, warranty implications depend on your warranty provider.
